HOW TO BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU HAVE

Listen up, my friend! I know life can be tough sometimes. You might not have everything you've ever dreamed of, like the house with the pool, your dream partner, or even your dream job. And let's be real, you might not have the same body you had at 18 either. But guess what? That doesn't mean your life isn't full of blessings that you can be thankful for. But when people say, 'You should be grateful' it's easier said than done. So, just how do you increase your feelings of gratitude with specific, easy-to-practice steps? Let's talk about how you can develop a habit of gratitude that will make you feel like you really do have it all.

As you go about your day, take advantage of every opportunity to practice thankfulness.

WAKING UP

First things first, start your day off on the right foot by taking a moment to think about all the good things in your life before you even get out of bed.

WASHING

When you're in the shower, be grateful for the little things, like having fingers and toes, and access to hot water.

EATING

When you sit down to eat, give thanks for your food, even if it's not your favourite meal. There are millions of people around the world who don't have reliable access to food, and you are in the top percentage of those who do. Isn't that worth feeling thankful for?

CONNECTIONS

Speaking of people, take a moment to appreciate the ones in your life. Be thankful for your family, friends, and even strangers who cross your path. (Try smiling at them and see what happens!) When you talk to someone, be grateful for the ability to communicate and the connection you're making.

P&P

And hey, even when you're doing your business in the bathroom, use that time to boost your mood with gratitude instead of worry. Take a good look in the mirror and appreciate the parts of your body that work well, even if they're not exactly Hollywood perfection - they serve you well.

JOURNAL

At the end of the day, wind down by reminding yourself of all the good things that happened and what you have to look forward to. Keep a journal and jot down or audio note everything that makes you feel grateful. You'll be amazed by how much better you feel when you take a few minutes each day to focus on the positive.

So, my friend, remember to be thankful every single day, and watch your life transform into a more joyful and fulfilling experience. Your blessings are more abundant than you realise, and practicing gratitude will make them even more evident.

So let's get to it and start living our best, thankful lives!
